This course is nearly over yet the journey has just begun...
I have learned a great deal about the layers of assistive technology and integration. I have adjusted my professional lens and approach to learning thanks to rich content and topics provided. Investigation and application of new tools and practices has certainly improved my professional practice and confidence.
I now approach technology with a greater sense of comfort and purpose. My beliefs and philosophy have grown, and I look forward to transferring these ideas and concepts into organic learning experiences. This will be evident in the classroom and collaborative gatherings with colleagues. ‘Learning Initiatives’ will be supported with a stronger philosophy about learning in the Twenty-First Century.
The content and focus of my learning journey complimented many side-projects that we as educators tend to carry. Although my husband and children would like to dispute the total number of study hours mentioned in the course outline, they have certainly developed a greater admiration for a role-model who demonstrates a passion for life-long learning.
This journey is not yet complete, as I still have many questions… In this last remaining week of studies, I will reflect on comments, ideas and practices. I will fine-tune my wish list and secure a life-line to experienced colleagues who share similar passions.
With thanks and appreciation for this incredible journey,
LeeAnn Smith
